What Most Overlook In Their Branding

Apr 18, 2024

I hear these comments from clients A LOT.

“I hired an SMM to execute my content but she couldn’t capture my tone of voice”

“I have a VA who creates my graphics but every graphic looks like it came from a different brand”

My clients want to increase their marketing, but can’t because their team struggles with creating on-brand content.

They look or sound like a different brand in every post and platform.

And it’s not their team’s fault.

It’s ALWAYS because they lack one thing:

Guidelines.

Their team has no clear reference on:

  • What message to communicate
  • How to communicate this message
  • How to maintain the brand’s look

So they approach marketing as a guessing game.

Rather than creating something intentional and engaging for their audience, they end up creating something based on the founder’s preferences and assumptions.

And these lack of guidelines is also the reason why my clients and their team go through…

  • So much back and forth writing their content
  • Long periods of trial and error in their marketing
  • Ineffective ads

A few weeks ago, I even saw an email marketer make this post about a client without any brand guidelines.

And from the comments and reactions?

It seems like many other marketers agree 😅

If you have comprehensive guidelines in place, then that’s great to hear.
