You may or may not be surprised but I’ve gone through months without clients many times…
I’ve experienced 6 months of rejections…
And a year where I only had 4 projects.
Constantly going through the phase of “When will I get my next client?” was exhausting.
So when things picked up, I decided to play the long game.
I nurtured my relationships even if it didn’t lead to anything for the first 6 months.
And this meant…
- Attending community events regularly,
- Being active in online groups,
- Staying top of mind through content and conversations.
Soon enough, the seeds I planted bloomed.
To the point where I was closing multiple clients every month, serving 4-8 clients at a time.
I wish I could say all it took was showing up, but I learned that showing up wasn’t the only thing that mattered.
It’s HOW we show up that makes a difference.
Because there IS a way to maximize the results of showing up.
Ideally, we want to be clear on these 3 things:
Brand Message — What we want to say and to whom
Brand Positioning — How we’re the right option for the right people / How we want to be remembered
Offer — What value can we bring to the table
Why these 3 things?
Because it makes our communication and activities much more intentional and precise.
